چکیده

In this work, we report on the electroplating of ultrafine and uniform magnesium (Mg) films on copper (Cu) and carbon nanotube (CNT) paper substrates. By controlling the process parameters and utilizing the pulsed deposition method, the average grain size of Mg was reduced to nanodimensions. Surface pretreatment of the substrates by depositing a seed layer was found to be an efficient strategy for reducing the energy barrier for nucleation, thus improving nucleation density and the uniformity of deposited coatings. This work provides important guid‐ ance for the fabrication of smooth nanostructured Mg films on different substrates for a wide variety of applications.

Characterisation and Corrosion Performance of MultilayerNano Nickel Coatings on AZ31 Magnesium Alloy

Ni-P and Ni layers multilayer coatings were applied to AZ31 magnesium alloy utilizing electroless and electrodeposition procedures. The aim of the project was to decrease cracks and increase corrosion resistance of the coatings. In order to compare the coatings, the effect of single layer electroless Ni-P coatings with different thicknesses was also investigated. The microstructure and phase co...

Effect of pulsed current densities on co-electrodeposition of Graphene Oxide/ Calcium-Phosphate coatings and their biocompatibility

In this study, calcium-phosphate (Ca-P) and graphene oxide (GO)/ calcium-phosphate (Ca-P) coatings were electrodeposited with different pulsed current densities on TiO2 nanotubes. Results showed that the co-electrodeposition rate in the presence of GO, especially at low current densities of 2 and 5 mA/cm2, significantly decreased. This might be due to the large size of GO sheets as compared to ...

An Investigation on the Electrodeposition Mechanism of Ni-TiO2 Nanocomposite Coatings

In this research, a sol-modified composite electrodeposition technique that combines the sol-gel method with the conventional electrodeposition process was utilized to deposit Ni-TiO2 nanocomposite coatings. Cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques were applied to study the influence of the TiO2 sol concentration on the deposits’ electrochemical behavior. The results clearly showed t...

The formation of nanostructured surfaces by electrochemical techniques: a range of emerging surface finishes. Part 2: examples of nanostructured surfaces by plating and anodising with their applications

In part 1 of this review, emerging practice to realise nanostructured metallic coatings by electrodeposition, anodising and electrophoresis has been considered. Conventional, aqueous electrolytes may be utilised in some cases if workpiece preparation and process conditions are well controlled. Such coatings can provide wear and corrosion resistance or a catalytic or high active area compared to...
